EUROPE – This is going to be an interesting weekend. On Saturday: First show in Armenia and Sweden, the third heat in Hungary, the fourth show in Lithuania, the first semi final in Latvia and the national final of Malta where Eleanor Cassar seems to be the favourite. On Sunday Switzerland decides and Romania holds its third semi final.
CYPRUS – Composer for the Cyprus entry, Alex P. (aka Alex Papaconstantinou) seems to have been working with Margaret’s “Cool Me Down” authors to create the song “Fuego” with which Eleni Foureira (aka #QueenF) will represent Cyprus in the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest. The team includes: Anderz Wrethov, Didrick, Teddy Sky and Viktor Svensson.
SAN MARINO – It seems it turns to the joke of the year regarding the national selections. Three disappointed and eliminated participants in the San Marino selection filed a strike on the 1in360 YouTube channel as they hosted their bidding videos and the YouTube channel shut down. Therefore the 1in360 team had to re-open a new account through which the pre selection shows will also be aired. In the meantime another joke stoke the world of San Marino selection as its was revealed that Zoe, the 2016 Austrian representative is thee composer of 9 out thee 11 participating entries (and also a jury member of the entire procedure). Seriously does San Marino even think they stand a chance in Eurovision 2018?
ISRAEL – Israel is now calling for songs. Feel weeks before the talent show selection for the artist concludes, the Israelis are seeking their entry for Eurovision 2018. The final song selection will take place on February 13 and authors have two weeks to submit their bids.
