Eurovision 2018 🇵🇹 Grand Final voting running order revealed
Fotis Konstantopoulos (Greece)
LISBON 🇵🇹 Few moments ago the EBU revealed the running order for the voting of the Grand Final. In the voting all 43 participating countries will start by giving their juries votes (1-10 automatically added and 12 points only announced by the spokesperson) and then in sum the female hosts will announce the tele voting results for each country asserting from the country which ranked 26th towards the top.
We are not aware if the previous system has been applied too the voting running order. In the past EBU was using an algorithm via which the countries started to present their votes in order to keep the excitement for the winner up to the last minute. Since the running order for the voting is announced now, it seems that either this algorithm is not applied anymore or since the jury dress rehearsal concluded, they accumulated the votes from the national juries so at least the first part of the voting to be exciting.
If you try to analyse the running order based on a potential use of the algorithm we presume that Norway, Cyprus and Israel (and maybe even Finland) which are towards the end seem to have gathered most of the votes. We see Czech Republic in the early stages of voting so we can assume Mikolas didn’t make it and now we have to examine the fact the the last countries to vote are: Poland, Lithuania, Slovenia and hot country Portugal who definitely don’t have a pattern of voting although Ireland, Bulgaria and Portugal were the countries jury and public from those countries voted in the pervious three years.
