Eurovision 2016: budget already at 60 million SEK
STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN – Regional media started reporting on the budget of the Eurovision Song Contest. Preliminary information claim that the City of Stockholm allocated already funds of about 60 million SEK (almost 6,4 million Euros) for the 2016 Eurovision edition.
In 2013 the entire contest cost to SVT about 125 million SEK (about 13 million Euros). SVT then and now state that the Eurovision Song Contest doesn’t have to be expensive in order to be made glamorous and that’s a statement we all agree especially when countries like Russia and Azerbaijan overspent millions of Euros for the event.
It is also become known that Globen arena is now officially booked for 6 weeks for the event (April 4, May 14)
