Eurovision 2015: all info about ViennaSphere
VIENNA, AUSTRIA – An inflatable 360 degree projection dome, dubbed the ViennaSphere, will be touring across Europe this spring to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Eurovision Song Contest and the 150th anniversary of the Ringstrasse Boulevard in Vienna.
The ViennaSpehere, which can accommodate up to 500 audience members will be displayed in Barcelona (19-21st of March), Paris (26-28th of March), London (2-4th of April), Milan (10-12th of April) and Berlin (17-19th of April). A media event will be organised each first evening in each city with 2014 Eurovision winner Conchita Wurst to perform.
The guest list for the opening night is limited and Eurovision fans will have the opportunity to win free tickets. The draw and the exact location of the ViennaSpehere in each city will be announced on social media.
During the night-time, the ViennaSphere will display huge 360 degree projections of works created by the Vienna-based artist Neon Golden. 3D images of the Austrian capital will also be on display with the 15-minute show ending in a performance by Conchita Wurst and her winning entry “Rise Like a Phoenix”.
The Vienna Tourist Board will be giving away day-trips to the Austrian captal each evening as well as two tickets for the Eurovision grand final. During the day, projections of Vienna’s Ringstrasse Boulevard will be shown and pamphlets and information on the city will be distributed. Admission to both the day-time and evening shows are free.
