EUROVISION 2014: BEHIND THE SCENES
COPENHAGEN, DENMARK – Danish host broadcaster of the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 DR made a special “behind the scenes” program in Danish where we follow the executive producer Pernille Gaardbo, head of show Jan Lagermand Lundme and the team during the shows in B&W Hallerne.
In the program we see what the producers are thinking when the doors in the cubes will not close during Sweden’s performance in the first semifinal and we follow Pernille Gaardbo’s tears and happiness during the show. We also follow the hosts when preparing the manuscript and they did that for the last time a few hours before the Grand Final.
Before Eurovision, DR made two programs about selecting the host city and the preparations in B&W Hallerne. During these programs it was clear that DR chose Copenhagen as the host city because they wanted to try something different and new with the halls and the other applicant city Herning had a good venue, but maybe it was too obvious. The programs also showed the problems DR had with Host City Copenhagen who were in charge of preparing the Eurovision Island and the halls before DR could build the scene in there.
