LISBON, PORTUGAL – On November 16th, OGAE Portugal held for the first time a dinner concert that brought together fans and friends of Festival RTP da Canção, the national selection, and the Eurovision Song Contest. This dinner was attended by 3 well-known Portuguese artists:

Adelaide Ferreira, winner of the national contest in 1985 and representative of Portugal in Sweden that year. Adelaide played the Eurovision theme “Penso Em Ti” and “Papel Principal”, one of its greatest successes in the Portuguese record market.

Telmo Miranda, competitor in the national contest in the year 1997, who released a new album earlier this year, sang two of his new songs.

Carla Ribeiro, one of the greatest revelation voices in Portugal and Filipa Sousa, back singer in Baku, played “Vida Minha” and also “Há Dias Assim” from Filipa Azevedo.

More than 60 people were present at this event held at the bar of the “Teatro Rapido” in Chiado, Lisbon.

After the dinner concert, OGAE Portugal, in partnership with the “Salto Alto” bar, organized a Eurovision Party where hundreds of people heard national and European greatest hits from the Eurovision Song Contest all night long.

According to the president of the Portuguese association, José Carlos Garcia, “The success of the event shows that there is room for partnerships and more activities around the Eurovision Song Contest in Portugal. The return of Portugal in 2014 is the real proof of that. ”

OGAE Portugal will hold its General Assembly and its traditional Christmas dinner on December 7th.
