EUROFEST 2014: 60 SONGS SUBMITTED
MINSK, BELARUS – Over 60 applications have been submitted for the Belarusian national selection for the forthcoming 2014 Eurovision Song Contest, BelTA learnt from Spokesperson for the Belarusian TV and Radio Company Svetlana Smolonskaya-Kraskovskaya.
“More applications might be received. If an application was sent on 24 November, but arrived on 26 November, it will still be accepted,” the Spokesperson noted.
Both newcomers and famous performers will take part in the national selection this year. Among them are Nuteki, Alexei Gross, Daria, Natalia Tamelo, Ivan Buslai, Yelena Grishanova, Georgy Koldun, DiDuLa and Max Lorens.
The audition will be held on 28-29 November. The 15 acts that will compete at the national final will be announced on 29 November.
The jury includes People’s Artists of Belarus Vasily Rainchik and Alexander Tikhanovich, director of the Shtam dance school Alexander Mezhenny, Merited Artist of Belarus Alyona Lanskaya, TV host Mikhail Revutsky and other persons. The jury will be led by Chairman of the Belarusian TV and Radio Company Gennady Davydko.
The winner of the national selection will be announced at the final show in January. The participant, who will score the greatest number of points as a result of the vote by the professional jury and the audience, will become the official representative of the Republic of Belarus at the 2014 Eurovision 2014 Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen.
