ESC 2014: SURPRISE IN THE INTERVAL ACT!
COPENHAGEN, DENMARK – During the interview of NDR’s Thomas Schreiber to OGAE Germany last week, it was revealed that a country that is outside Europe but is an EBU associate member will perform a song in the 2nd semifinal’s interval act.
Speculations immediately began with Australia been the most rumoured country as they love Eurovision for years, a show which they air live down under. Mr Schreiber also revealed that if this country applied for Eurovision Song Contest participation he (as representative of the German national broadcaster) would support it 100% and it would boost the prestige of the contest.
Besides that China and Australia already confirmed they are sending delegations in Copenhagen to follow the 59th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest!
It seems that in 2015 a historic change in the contest will take place with the idea of allowing non-European countries to participate in the contest! Not a bad idea at all!
