ESC 2014: NORWAY & SWEDEN ALLOCATED
COPENHAGEN, DENMARK – Danish broadcaster DR has asked EBU to split Sweden and Norway in the two semi finals during next years Eurovision.
Sweden will participate in the first semi final and Norway in the second. That was the result of a draw held in Geneve last week. The decision was made to get Swedes and Norwegians to have a fair chance of getting tickets to the shows, head of show Jan Lagermand Lundme explains.
This year the Swedish hosts did the same when Denmark participated in the first semi final and Norway in the second. Right now it seems like 37 countries will participate in Copenhagen.
15 countries will participate in one semi final and 16 in the other. Together with the big 5 and host country Denmark 26 countries will fight for the victory at the B&W Halls on May 10th.
On January 20th the Allocation Draw for the semi finals will be held in Copenhagen’s City Hall. 15 countries will participate in each semifinal unless Slovenia decides to participate. Israel will compete in the 2nd semifinal and Germany will allow voting in that one as well. Italy will vote on first semifinal.
Tickets soon: DR will very soon tell when the ticket sale starts for the two semi finals, the grand final and to two dress rehearsals for each show.
