ESC 2014: IT’S A EUROVISION DIAMOND
COPENHAGEN, DENMARK – Danish national broadcaster launched the official logo for the 2014 edition of Eurovision Song Contest. It’s a diamond, a Eurovision diamond!
DR can now unveil the logo for next year’s Eurovision Song Contest. It will be a hexagonal diamond to frame the 2014 edition of the world’s largest music competition.
Eurovision diamond symbolizes what the competition means to us: A hub that is at once sparkling and strong. The diamond has lots of different facets and shows the diversity and the wealth that comes to stand on the Eurovision stage, says DR executive producer of the show, Pernille Gaardbo.
We have been working hard to get the logo done and Wendy Gaardbo is happy to reveal it just before Christmas, so that in this way can be an extra little gift for the contest many fans. Pernille Gaardbo thinks that the logo fits hand in glove with the DR will be next year’s competition
It emphasizes visually the approach we have to Eurovision 2014: The raw B & W Haller combined with the sparkling show, and in the middle of the stage, the diamond as a unifying force, right where it’s all done, she explains.
For Pernille Gaardbo is a straight line from the diamond logo of Refshaleøen in Copenhagen, where the show takes place, and the very purpose of the competition: A diamond is indeed the finest materials, both energy unifying and energizing, she says. If we can do what we dream of being able to do the show – to move and move people – it’s the best that can be achieved at all. We want to express with the diamond.
