ERT CEO Mr Lambis Tagmatarchis made a statement regarding the disaster Greece had by eliminated from the 2016 Eurovision Grand Final for the first time since the system of semi-finals implements.
“It’s absurd, unfair and unethical to target the ERT President Mr Tsaknis, for the choice of the song which ERT submitted to Eurovision. The decisions are taken by the board of directors, as it happens to all organisation. ERT did ask various artists to represent Greece but most of them kindly refused for reasons which concern the image of Eurovision itself.
Eurovision audience might not justified the choice of band ARGO, but this doesn’t mean the effort was not honourable. An effort which stood up outside the record labels and production companies, as used to happen to date. It was given a chance to new artists to try out. It’s OK they didn’t qualify, they deserve congratulations for their effort. I inform you that “poison” in various critics is not naive. Many wish to take the Eurovision project from ERT.
Our response is one: You can say this shit and you still remain a CEO? Really?
