Emmelie de Forest doesn’t exclude return to Eurovision, as a composer though
DENMARK – Emmelie de Forest continues to make music both as a singer and a songwriter. The Danish Eurovision winner said in an interview with the Danish broadcaster DR that a new album will be released in 2018. She expects that an EP should be released during the fall as a warm up to the new album. She is inspired by “women with attitude” like Kate Bush, Björk and PJ Harvey inspires her.
Since Emmelie de Forest won the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 she has been working on writing new music and last year she felt like she really found her style. This will show in the new album.
Emmelie has been co-writing songs for Eurovision both in 2016 and 2017. This year’s UK entry “Never Give Up On You” which came in 15th in the Grand Final was written by Emmelie de Forest and last year she co-wrote the song “Never Alone” which came in second in the Danish national final performed by Anja Nissen who represented Denmark this year.
Even though Emmelie has won the Eurovision Song Contest she doesn’t see a comeback as a singer in the competition, but she would like to write new songs for Eurovision.
