ODENSE, DENMARK – Today the city of Odense was officially presented as the host city of Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2014 at Odense City Hall. The Mayor of Odense Anker Boye received the title of ”Grand Prix City 2014” on behalf of the city as Odense will host both Dansk Melodi Grand Prix and the children’s final MGP next year.

The 2000 Eurovision winners Olsen Brothers and 2013 winner Emmelie de Forest performed at the ceremony with their winning songs and the ambition for next years national final in Denmark is to find a new Eurovision winner in 2014.

Head of entertainment in DR Rasmus Ladefoged said to the danish newspaper BT that big names from the music industry in Denmark have shown interest in participating in Dansk Melodi Grand Prix in Odense. The past years DR have modernized the show and that makes the contest more attractive for established artists.

Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2014 will be held in Arena Fyn in Odense on March 8th. The deadline for submitting songs to the contest is on October 7th.
