COPENHAGEN, DENMARK – A record breaking number of 872 songs have been sent to Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2014. That is 180 songs more than last years record of 692.
DR expects the huge interest for the national final is caused by Denmark’s victory in Eurovision 2013 and brings the competition to Copenhagen in 2014. During the last years DR have modernized the contest which also makes it more attactive to musicians in Denmark.
During the next months a secret jury will listen to all the songs and choose the best to compete in the final. DR will also invite some professional songwriters to compete and in the first months in 2014 the 10 artists will be revealed.
Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2014 will be held in Arena Fyn in Odense on March 8th.
