AMBERG, GERMANY – Azerbaijani entry to Eurovision 2014 Dilara Kazimova will perform at the oldest Eurovision’s fan birthday. Oma Ella is going to throw a party for friends and family in Amberg to celebrate her 105th birthday. A concert in honour of a very special Eurovision’s fan will be hosted in Amberg Congress Centrum followed by the mayor’s reception in Oma’s native village Kelheim, Germany.
‘We met several times with Dilara in Copenhagen and she was very kind to me. I like her song and really wanted to see her at my birthday. It’s amazing she is coming to celebrate it with me’, said Oma.
Oma Ella, who’s real name is Eleonora Kastner, was born in 1910 in Germany. She always loved music and started to follow Eurovision Song Contest in her 50’s. For the first time Oma not watched but listened to the Contest on the radio. In 2011 she finally got a chance to watch Eurovision live when her grandson took Oma to Düsseldorf. Since then she became so popular that the German fan club OGAE even awarded her with an Honorary Eurovision membership.
‘I’m so grateful for the invitation. When I saw Oma for the first time my heart just melted. She is so sweet and charming. I will make sure we are having a great party for her 105th’, promised Dilara.
The only other Eurovision’s artist invited to Oma’s birthday party is Eurovision 2011 winner Eldar Gasimov. Together with Dilara they will perform for Oma Ella this weekend January 10th and 11th in Amberg Congress Centrum, Germany.
