Did Anouk leak the 2015 Dutch entry?
HILVERSUM, THE NETHERLANDS – After Anouk’s great placing in Malmö and The Common Linnets’ silver medal in Copenhagen, the Netherlands have been under Eurovision spotlight again, and their internal choice (that should be announced this month) has drawn particular attention.
As usual, in Eurovisionland, particular attention means a flow of speculations. As the revelation from AVROTROS is getting closer, the rumors’ machine is overheating.
For several weeks, the name of Alain Clark has been highly tipped but yesterday, a tweet from Anouk revealed a new name. The 2015 Dutch entrant could be Trijntje Oosterhuis. The 41-year old pop singer could wave the Dutch flag in Vienna with a song penned by Anouk herself. Some sources called the information official, even if the broadcaster has kept silent on the subject.
Today, one of the main newspapers of the country, De Telegraaf, is reporting that a third artist is likely to be AVROTROS’ choice: Dotan. The 28 year-old singer and song-writer, after is gold certified first album, has chances to fly to Austria next May.
To sum up the situation, we have now three serious potential names but we have to wait a few more days or weeks for the official announcement by AVROTROS. May it be Alain, Trijntje, Dotan, or even someone else, one thing is sure, the Netherlands want to send a big name to the Jubilee contest…
