Cyprus 2015: Ivi Adamou to host national selection
NICOSIA, CYPRUS – After the morning announcement of the 60 preliminary qualifiers for the Cypriot national selection – you can find them all here – we now know the hostess of the preliminary shows and the final: The 2012 representative, Ivi Adamou! She will be accompanied by Despina Olympiou (2012), Alex Panayi (1995, 2000), Elena Patroklou (1991) and Tasos Tryfonos as jury members as oikotimes.com exclusively revealed you days ago.
Now, as of December 7th we will watch the pre-recorded audition shows which will include the description of the singer and an a-capella performance of a Eurovision entry. In the meantime family and friends will comment the performance of the artist. Then the performer will sing live his Eurovision bid to the jury members and those collecting three positive opinions (since the jury members are four) will proceed to the next phase.
From the 60 entries in the auditions phase we move to the Eurochallenge phase. Twenty acts from the first phase will proceed to this phase. Ten of them will go through. There will be stage performance but only for 60-90 seconds and the jury will call two acts to announce the one qualifier from the ten pairs of the show.
In the third phase the 10 entries will follow the same recipe as in the past two phases and the qualifiers will perform any Eurovision song accompanied by a piano. Journalists will ask questions to the qualifiers and the jury will proceed to the grand final which is set for February 1st. The outcome will be decided by jury (50%) and tele voting (50%)
