The oikotimes.com team attended the final of Norwegian Melodi Grand Prix 2013 and we can tell you it was an amazing show. Landslide victory for Margaret Berger whom oikotimes.com was the first to interview her and you can watch the video here. But it wasn’t only that!
During the show we enjoyed two interval performances which were absolutely stunning. First we had the one and only, the amazing Eurovision 2012 winner Loreen singing “My Heart is Refusing Me” a total smashing hit in Europe. The we heard the new version of Tooji’s “Stay” which represented the country in Eurovision 2012 as well. He was looking sexy and much more confident than in Baku. Enjoy the interval performances below.
that’s it from Oslo, thank you all for following oikotimes.com
Stian Malme is the executive producer of this year’s Melodi Grand Prix. The team of oikotimes.com attended the Norwegian final and we were impressed on the quality of the show. Here is an interview with Mr Stian Malme from NRK exclusively on oikotimes.com. With special thanks to NRK and our editor Alexander Borodin.
This year’s favorite MGP 2013. “I Feed You My Love” performed by Margaret Berger won both the jury and the televoting with a huge marginal. She got 102 000 televotes from all over Norway and that was double as many as number two Adelén.
Overall a victory for the young and new artist’s as well as modern music one can sum up tonight. For Adelén as well as Annsofi we have two new Norwegian stars on the rising. For Margaret Berger there will be an international journey beginning from now on.
The composers of the song “I Feed You My Love” concluded that it’s a brave choice for Norway to go with this song. – This is a winners candidate for the Eurovision in Malmö. This is a fantastic moment in my life as a composer, Niklas Olovson tells oikotimes.com right after Margaret’s victory.

It’s almost a week before the Greek audience to enjoy Alexander Rybak in the Greek National Final 2013. The oikotimes.com team met with the Eurovision 2009 winner during the rehearsals for the grand final of Norway – Melodi Grand Prix 2013. Below you can see the video interview of the man who’s holding the top Eurovision score ever and is the composer of Annsofi’s entry tonight.
The dress rehearsal has just ended in Oslo Spektrum. A strange rehersal as there were only a few people in the audience, therefore there were never any particular feeling of party. In less than an hour the real party will begin!
As media are not allowed to publish any pictures on before we can at least reveal that the grand star tonight will be Loreen, she will be performing a spectacular interval act tonight, that could just as well look like something we can see in the Eurovision in a few months time. She performed her old song My Heart is Refusing Me, but in a complete new remix. The stage show starts with Loreen sitting on a gigantic throne inspired by the fantasy serie “Game of Thrones”. Together with a huge amount of dancers on stage this create a very impressive number.
Also, Tooji delivers a surprise with an interval act of his Stay in a new remix, accompanied by a gigantic chorus and dancers.
The host struggled a bit with some parts of the show and they have problems with the opening act. A thing that can also be noted is the amount of pyrotechnics used tonight. It’s a lot! Oikotimes got the opportunity to talk with Alexander Ryback during the break in the rehearsal.
Oslo Spektrum, in the background on the photo, certainly doesn’t look that interesting on the outside. But after all this is the venue for the final of MGP, and it has been the place for that at least since 2004.
In just a few minutes the general rehersal of MGP 2013 will start and we are waiting now for it to start. Taking the opportunity to higighligt the venue for the show.
Oslo Spektrum was for many years Norway’s biggest venue for indoor concerts. It was inaugurated 1990. It got the honor to host the Eurovision Song Contest 1996. When Norway last hosted the contest the venue was considered to small already. Eurovision 2009 was held in Telenor Arena, a much bigger hall a bit outside Oslo.
However, Oslo Spektrum offers a more cosy and intimate atmosphere. With its max capacity of 9700 spectators it’s a very pleasant venue for concerts. Since 1994 the venue annually hosts the Nobel Price Concert broadcasted around the world, with great artists from all around the world.
Here are some of the artists that has visited Oslo Spektrum throughout the years: Nightwish, Cher, Marion Raven, Shakira, Sophie Ellis Bextor, Oasis, Frank Sinatra, Roxette, Celine Dion, Gwen Stefani, Anastacia, Children of Bodom, In Flames, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Marilyn Manson, Dream Theater, Shania Twain, Sissel, Eminem, Westlife, Elton John, Snoop Dogg, P. Diddy, Bruce Springsteen, Green Day, Genesis, Robbie Williams, a-ha, Guns N’ Roses, Paul McCartney, Destiny’s Child, Prince, Pink, Queens of the Stone Age, Spice Girls, Tina Turner, AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne, Slayer, Bob Dylan, The Cure, Britney Spears, 50 Cent, Alicia Keys, Christina Aguilera, Turbonegro, Kylie Minogue, Justin Timberlake, R.E.M., Radiohead, Foo Fighters, Coldplay, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Muse, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, The Beach Boys.
This is the greateast spot if you want to see great concerts, tonight it’s the final of MGP here. SO dull on the outside, but nice on the inside!
