SWEDEN – Can I call you home is one of the songs Måns recorded in Barcelona and released immediately after the Barcelona terrorist attack last summer. Part of the Barcelona sessions where he recorded most of his new album songs, he considers the city as his home and didn’t hesitate to honour the victims of the terrorist attack by releasing the song last summer. Now it’s time to hear it as a duet with Roger Argemí in a bilingual duet (English and Catalan) in a weird period for the region as still the Catalans struggle to implement their decision to hold a referendum for their independence despite the strong objection of the Spanish government.
FACTOID – In October 2015, Mukuchyan released the single “Simple like a Flower”, along with a music video. In the same month Public Television of Armenia announced that Mukuchyan will represent Armenia at Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Stockholm, Sweden.
The song “LoveWave”, composed by Lilith Navasardyan and Levon Navasardyan with lyrics by Mukuchyan and Stephanie Crutchfield, was announced as the Armenian entry on 19 February 2016.
Mukuchyan premiered the song along with a music video on 2 March 2016. Mukuchyan also starred alongside Mkrtich Arzumanyan in the adventurous comedy Run Away Or Get Married, which was released in March 2016.
At Eurovision Mukuchyan performed “LoveWave” in position 7 during the first semi-final, where she qualified for the final on 14 May 2016 and performed last in position 26. She finished the contest in 7th place with 249 points.
During the first semi-final on 10 May, Mukuchyan was seen holding the flag of the disputed territory of Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, sparking backlash from the Azeri press.
The EBU and reference group released a statement the following day calling the incident a “serious breach” of its ban on political messages and stating that Armenia’s public broadcaster would face sanctions and that “any further breach of the rules of the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest could lead to disqualification from this year’s event or any successive editions.”
Mukuchyan responded stating: “My thoughts are with my Motherland. I want peace everywhere.” (source: wikipedia.org)

While working on her debut album, she was a presenter on a popular daily youth TV program in Israel, EXIT. In 2005, Maimon took part in Kdam Eurovision, the Israel’s Eurovision selection show and was not the favorite to win. She won first place for her performance of HaSheket SheNish’ar (The Silence that Remains). Thus she became Israel’s representative at the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest in Kiev. She initially rebuffed suggestions that parts of the song should be performed in English. In the end, considering that foreign language songs had not been successful in the past, she agreed to sing half in Hebrew and half in English. She was placed fourth in the contest, winning 154 points. (source: wikipedia.org)

AUSTRALIA – After spending the first half of 2017 bunkered down, putting the finishing touches on his 10th studio album CONSCIOUS, Guy Sebastian the multi-platinum super star has come out swinging with “High on Me”, the lead single. Taking it back to his upbeat soulful roots, it’s hard to take this one off repeat.
“High on Me poured out of me while I was in Bali on a writing trip, sitting back looking at the mountains, high on this life. I really wanted to create a soulful earworm that would make young and old want to get up out of their chair and enjoy the moment”, says Guy Sebastian
Guy was the first winner of Australian Idol in 2003, and has been a judge on Australia’s The X Factor. He represented Australia at the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest, finishing in 5th place. Sebastian has worked with a number of notable American musicians, including Brian McKnight, Robin Thicke, Steve Cropper, John Mayer, Jordin Sparks, Eve and Lupe Fiasco. “Battle Scars”, a collaboration with Fiasco, spent 20 weeks on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, peaking at number 71 and achieved platinum certification. “Battle Scars” also reached number two in Norway and New Zealand. Sebastian has reached the top ten in New Zealand with an album and six singles, including two number ones, and gained six platinum and three gold certifications there. In 2015 his Eurovision song charted in the top 50 in five European countries.
BELARUS – Well we cannot forget how much we loved the Solayoh performance back in 2013 Eurovision Song Contest edition but the first time I fell in love with Alyona Lanskaya was in 2012 with the song “All My Life” which was ultimately disqualified as the Belarusian President ordered. Back then the ballad was indeed the best and Alyona gave such a vocal performance bringing goosebumps to the audience. Unfortunately we didn’t have the pleasure seeing it in Eurovision. Nevertheless dance songs seems not to be the winning case for Alyona and ballads are the only songs which can show what a tremendous vocal performer Alyona is. This is the case with the latest single release, Silece which you can listen to in this post.
