In the meantime you can still support Tayanna or your favourite Ukrainian finalist in our poll. At the moment Tayanna is leading the public opinion just like last year but we all see and know that the Ukrainian jury have great tradition into destroying the result.
GEORGIA – The surprise announcement in the New Year’s Eve that Georgia will be represented in Lisbon by the group Iriao seems that brought reactions from the local fans. They issued a petition against their internal selection. Not that a petition will do anything, as it never works in Eurovision history.
Georgian Eurofans thought there will be a national selection and they express their dissatisfaction on GPB’s policy towers Eurovision Song Contest 2018. Georgian broadcaster though hasn’t made clear how the song will be selected (internally, or via national selection).
Georgian fans also claim that Iriao are not indicative representatives of the nation as themselves didn’t know about their existence and they prompt the issue of local support in order for international audience to understand how important their representatives are.
Although unlikely, we expect an answer from the Georgian national broadcaster to these concerns and somehow there must be a reaction to their worries as each national broadcaster relies a lot to the fan support of their national representatives.
Online petitions never worked in Eurovision but in case you feel you wanna support the Georgian fans you can do it here.
