Bulgaria 2016: Eurovision entrant for Stockholm selected
SOFIA, BULGARIA – Bulgarian national broadcaster informed the Eurofans through Twitter that BNT has reached a decision regarding the participant who’s gonna represent the country in the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest. The name has not been revealed yet but there are intense rumours that Poli Genova might return to the contest.
Poli Plamenova Genova (born 10 February 1987 in Sofia, Bulgaria) is a Bulgarian singer who represented her country in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 in Germany. Genova performed her entry “Na inat” (Out of Spite) in the second semifinal. (source: wikipedia.org)

Bulgaria has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest nine times since their début at the 2005 contest in Kiev. The country’s best result is a fifth-place finish for Elitsa & Stoyan at the 2007 contest. Bulgaria has failed to qualify for the final on its eight other appearances at the contest, most narrowly in 2012, when Sofi Marinova lost out on the 10th qualifying place from the second semi-final in a tie-break with Norway.
