Breaking News / Sweden 2015: Ylvis to attend the final!
STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN – It has been a well-kept secret since last fall. But now Nöjesbladet (Ylvis’ manager) reveal that the Big Show to be crowned this year’s Swedish Melodifestivalen tour made by the Norwegian humor duo Ylvis.
Ylvis are brothers – Bård and Vegard Ylvisåker. They stand behind the stubborn Youtube hit song about how the fox really sounds – “The Fox (What Does The Fox say?)” from 2013:
The music video has been watched almost 500 million times and became an international hit song, for what it was awarded with Norwegian analogue of “Grammy”.
But hubris seems to have taken root. The duo is proud and happy to have encountered during Melodifestivalen final at Friends Arena.
– We are really looking forward to play in the finals. It is an honor for us! We have a huge respect to the Swedish Eurovision Song Contest and has never been to anything like this in Norway,- says Ylvis’ manager Jørgen Thue Nöjesbladet.
A powerful show promise. There is talk of a borrowed Swedish gospel choir, and Jørgen Thue says that number should match the big venues. Some fox or other animal costumes will the audience does not count.
– There will be Ylvis’ song “Stonehenge”. We will do it “Swedish style”, in a large format dressing arena.
It was Melodifestivalen crew who contacted the duo. Maybe because they liked the brothers’ own talk show “Tonight with Ylvis” on Swedish Channel 9th. What has Ylvis and manager Jørgen Thue expectations for the live show before the Swedish Mello fans or artists?
– I think it will be gøy (“fun” in Norwegian), as we say here!
Melodifestivalen final will be held on Saturday 14th March. Complete artists so far include Eric Saade, Jessica Andersson, Mariette and Jon Henrik Fjällgren. A week after Melodifestivalen, March 21, Ylvis plays for the Swedish audience again. Globe’s audience should at least be able to count on the sing-along to “What Does The Fox say?”.
