London hosts Eurovision 60 Years anniversary show?
LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM – The United Kingdom has offered to host the special anniversary show (and not Germany as original stated) for the 60 years of the Eurovision Song Contest says Belgian press. It was back in April 24th 1956 when Marcel Bezençon’s idea implemented with the participation of seven countries.
The event will take place on March 31, 2015 (provisional) at Royal Albert Hall and will be aired live, produced by BBC. Graham Norton and Petra Mede will host the show.
It seems that Conchita Wurst (Austria 2014), Lordi (Finland 2006) and Loreen (Sweden 2012) confirmed participation but there are no more information on the format of the show, although a gala night is what to expect!
“There are various exciting proposals from Member Broadcasters on the table to celebrate the 60th anniversary beyond the contest in May, which are currently in the final stages of being evaluated. A decision is expected shortly, so stay tuned!”
