BELGIUM – Belgium will participate in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 represented by Blanche. The Belgian entry for the 2017 contest in Kiev, Ukraine will be selected internally, organised by the Walloon broadcaster Radio Télévision Belge de la Communauté Française (RTBF).
On 22 November 2016, RTBF announced that the 16 year old singer Ellie Delvaux had been internally selected to represent Belgium in the 2017 Contest. She will compete in Eurovision under her stagename Blanche. She had earlier competed in the TV talent competition The Voice Belgique.
The song will be most likely presented in a press conference by RTBF when the broadcaster will inform the press about the venture to Kyiv.
Blanche is working on the song with Pierre Dumoulin, Liege lead singer of the group Roscoe and rumours say that it will be an alternative ballad.
Ellie Delvaux explained that Blanche is used because its her third name and there are many singers with the name Ellie and she wants to be unique. Although the song should be in English she would like to add a touch of French in it, she said and with her name Blanche she surely adds a French vibe around her.
