Belgium 2017: RTBF replies on plagiarism story; as usual nothing is investigated
BELGIUM – RTBF reacted to the plagiarism accusations by the fans as songfestival.be reports. The song seems to be very similar to another song, a comparison of which is posted in this article.
It is sad to see once again a national broadcaster replaying by saying that “It happens every year at eurovision. Also with Laura Tesoro and Loic Nottet there were similar accusations”.
The composer of the song Pierre Dumoulin says that “It is logical that there are similarities in the melody like we find in maybe a million other songs. In this way we can connect a Unlimited number of pieces of songs to other pieces.”
Then what? Well in the world of Eurovision when you spot plagiarism you need to submit an official complaint to make an official investigation. Weirdly no one does that…
So we have the 2017 Måns Zelmerlöw case and of course neither EBU or RTBF give a damn about it. So much for the originality rule of the Eurovision Song Contest!
