BELARUS BEGINS JESC 2013 SONG QUEST
Belteleradiocompany begins receiving applications for the participation in the Republican Children’s Contest “Song for Eurovision” which is the national qualification of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2013, which will take place in November in Kiev (Ukraine). The organizer of the national qualification is the National State TV and Radio Company of the Republic of Belarus. The qualification is held in correspondence with the Regulation, developed by the organizer and the Rules of the Contest, established by the European Broadcasting Union.
Young performers who at the moment of the holding of the international contest are not younger than 10 years old and not older than 15 years old, who are the citizens of the Republic of Belarus or foreign citizens or stateless citizens who have been permanently residing on the territory of the Republic of Belarus for not less than 2,5 years can participate in the contest. A song, which hasn’t been published before in the Belarusian or Russian languages with the duration of not shorter than 2 minutes 30 seconds and not longer than 2 minutes 45 seconds, can be presented for the republican contest. The song has to be written by the contestant himself, the help of adults is permissible.
To participate in the contest it is necessary to send an application form by means of an insured box to the address: 220807, Minsk, Makaenka Str., 9 with note “For the Republican Contests “Song for Eurovision”. The last day to send in the parcels with applications is June 10, 2013. The Regulation on the holding of the national qualification of the Children’s Song Contest Eurovision 2013 is published on the web-site of Belteleradiocompany www.tvr.by in the section “Projects”. The official printed publication for the distribution of information about the Contest is the newspaper “Znamya Yunosti”.
The republican contest includes three stages: the qualification round, the final and the preparation of the official representative of the Republic of Belarus for the performance at the Contest. Following the results of the qualification round which will be summed up in June, the professional jury will select from 7 to 10 finalists. The final of the national contest will take place in September in the form of a gala-concert. The winner of the contest, who will represent Belarus at the Children’s Song Contest Eurovision 2013, will be determined by the results of telephone and SMS voting of the TV viewers and the voting of the professional jury.
