Azerbaijan 2018 🇦🇿 first reactions on Twitter show mixed feelings for ‘X My Heart’
AZERBAIJAN – The Azeri entry for the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest leaked early than it should have been on Spotify and immediately the Eurofans reacted on Twitter. Of course the first thing we had to isolate was the Armenian fan comments as we all know that they would never like the song.
In the Greek Eurofan community the reactions posted in the regional fan sites of the fan clubs for Eurovision are leaning to negative. On Twitter the comments are almost divided to positive and negative but we spotted a Twitter poll in which there is landslide prediction that the song will be for sure in the top 15 (37%) and even top ten (35%).
Of course we all have to remember that we listened to an audio file without video clip and of course nothing can be really said unless we see the live performance in Lisbon. The main things the Eurofans spot is music style similarities with a Miley Cyrus while the fans do spot Swedish influences as one of the composers is Swedish.
Nevertheless and if you ignore the 2017 Eurovision edition, the dream team of Dimitris Kontopoulos and Focus Evangelinos usually boring a top 7 in the Eurovision Song Contest. Personally I will never forget how the 2014 Russian entry managed to rank 7th in the final in a moment when Europe “attacked” the Russian anti-gay law and of course not to forget the Crimea crisis.
It is also nice to see first reactions prior to Eurovision, but to be honest I cannot say I like this song or not until I see it staged in Lisbon (at least at the rehearsals). And this applies for me for all entries this year.
queens eleni and aisel came to save eurovision 2018

I appear to be the only person loving Azerbaijan's song. Yeah, perhaps it's a bit generic, but you could say that for almost every song in Lisbon. At least this one is a bop. Go Aisel! 🇦🇿 #eurovision pic.twitter.com/lT1iRGltCy

You're not alone! It's quite nice actually!

Dimitris Kontopoulos has done it yet again! he should write a song for every country tbh 😋 Azerbaijan should just adopt Sandra Bjurman as well as "X My Heart" is the 6th entry co-written by her, I thought she wouldn't be involved with Aisel following Dream Team and Azeri rumours

Aisel – X My Heart
-A little disappointed
-I expected something more different
-This is basic as fuck
-Waste of talent :/
-But still a good song
-With a good singer (even though they could have done something much better for her)

Aisel's "X my Heart" would probably have come across better if we didn't already have Saara Aalto and "Monsters" in the competition, as the latter has a lot more personality to it.

Miracle > X My Heart. Aisel, what have you done?
— AL (@Lasaxes) March 3, 2018
Kirkorov wastes everyone. He wasted Demy, Sergey and Lorak but this is more annoying considering Aisel isn't even a pop singer

Just got home and listened to Azerbaijan – more like Azerbai-bland. Expected so much better from Aisel, that's what you get for working with the 'Dream Team'

I'm really disappointed becusse aisel is much more artistic and creative on her own 😓

Aisel has a bop. Imo she sounds a bit like Melanie C. #Eurovision2018
