Austria 2015: dates and hostess announced
VIENNA, AUSTRIA – Four shows kicking off on february 20th and ending with the final on March 13th are announced by ORF for the national selection of the host country. Hostess of the show will be Mirjam Weichselbraun, famous TV presenter.
In 2005, she moderated the Austrian national selection together with Christian Clerici. Together with her colleagues, Robert Kratky and Andi Knoll, she hosted the finals of the Austrian national selection in 2011 and 2012.
ORF’s coaches for the national selection are searching for the 20 talents which will participate in this marathon either solo acts or bands.
The 20 selected acts will perform in the first show in front of the public and the experts from music business. Out of these 20 acts, the professional jury will select 6 best artists or bands. In the second and third shows, these lucky six will have the possibility to convince Austria with their musical potential.
Each of all six competitors in the national selection will have to compose two own Eurovision songs. They will be assisted by successful producers and songwriters with international experience. For this creative process, ORF invited international top professionals like Julie Frost, the Golden Globe winner and the co-writer of Lena’s winning song Satellite in 2010, Jimmy Harry who produced hits for Bruno Mars, Pink or Madonna. The national stars Lukas Hillebrand or Wolfgang Schlögel alias I-Wolf will also support this year’s Austrian national selection that promises high musical and technical quality on an international top level!
