Armenia 2018 🇦🇲 another “Forever” scandal in Eurovision selections
ARMENIA – Mger Armenia, one of the singers hoping to represent his country at the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest, has hit back at accusations of plagiarism for his entry “Forever”, which is said to be similar to Queen’s “Who Wants to Live Forever”.
The artist, who was runner up in the 2009 Armenian national selection behind Inga & Anush, has accused other Depi Evratesil participants of copying Russian pop songs.
Mger Armenia’s producer, Giorgi Harutyunyan, said his client wants to win at Eurovision and took a swipe at some of the national final participants, including Sevak Khanagyan and Tamar Kaprelian, for not living in Armenia, despite their entries being the only ones to feature lyrics in Armenian.
There are a total of twenty competitors taking part in this year’s national selection in Armenia, scheduled for February 24.
