MAY 08: HOPE THIS IS THE LAST TIME WE SEE VALENTINA / VIDEO
It’s the second time Valentina Monetta is representing San Marino in the Eurovision Song Contest. In 2012 she got on stage with a hilarious tune, this year she’s back with something more interesting. “Crisalide (Vola)” is the title of another Eurotrash today!
WHAT WE LIKED
What we really liked in this one is that it’s by far better than the 2012 San Marino entry. Valentina is presented on stage totally different than in 2012 more professional and severe. (by oikotimes.com)
At the opening Crisalide (Vola), Valentina is sitting crouched on the stage clutching the globe lit lamp in her arms. She is wearing the red dress that has featured in the video, and in her promotional performances recently, with a black net shawl covering it for the first half of the song. Once the tempo changes, she discards the shawl, with the aid of her two backing dancers, and the red dress is revealed in all its glory. Red by now is very much the dominating colour in the lighting and in the effects, and Valentina brings the song to a rousing climax. (by eurovision.tv)
WHAT WE DISLIKED
We dislike the song and the format of the song. Valentina Monetta is overrated by the fans and the odds although we could see a surprise qualification of the country to the final (after all SMRTV said it clearly: if not qualification this year we are out of 2014 edition)
