EXCLUSIVE: WE BROUGHT UKRAINE & RUSSIA TOGETHER
During the opening night at Euroclub and the birthday party at Oikotimes the contestants from Ukraine and Russia performed their Eurovision entries on the stage. Backstage we found Mariya from Ukraine and the Tolmachevy Sisters from Russia together and we took a picture of them to show that even though there are crisis between countries, it will not affect the Eurovision Song Contest. The event is not political and this is a true example of this!
AMAZING TV AD FOR BASIM’S EUROVISION BID
Danish people’s passion for Eurovision is just incredible! Little by little the whole capital city is changing to “JoinUs” colours! The population has also fallen in love with their home entry and you can see adds on DR (Danmarks Radio) that perfectly illustrate the national support for Basim.
DENMARK & UKRAINE MEET IN TIVOLI GARDENS
On April 29th, after great first rehearsal on the main stage of Eurovision Song Contest 2014 at B&W Hallerna in Copenhagen Ukrainian participant Mariya Yaremchuk got invited by Danish own Basim to visit one of the most beautiful Denmark’s sights – Tivoli Gardens.
Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen is the second oldest amusement park in the world and the second most popular seasonal theme park in the world as well. Tivoli Gardens is more than an amusement park actually; it is equally as popular as a place to go dining and people-watching. The 21-acre park is beautifully landscaped with fountains and flower beds.
First of all Basim showed to Mariya his favorite cozy café when two singers spend some time chatting and laughing. Ukrainian beauty didn’t come empty-handed – Mariya brought famous Ukrainian chocolate to made Basim’s life sweeter. Than they’ve enjoyed unbelievable spring in Tivoli Gardens walking at Basim’s secrets spots and rides. Basim invited Mariya to his favorite and, as he said, “the craziest roller coaster in Tivoli”. Mariya was speechless and fascinated after the roller coaster. “My blood was boiling! – said scared and exited Mariya. – It blows my socks off!”
Of course Mariya and Basim walk catch everybody’s attention at Tivoli Gardens – Basim is very popular in Denmark and everybody wanted to show support, to take a picture and to chat face-to-face with two Eurovision 2014 stars. “We can see here how many people support Basim and they are looking for him, – said Mariya, – and I wish Basim to feel that support, and this support to help him at Eurovision.” And Basim said that he can’t wait to see Mariya on stage during Eurovision Grand Final on May 10th.
Mariya was amazed by Tivoli Gardens and Basim’s hospitality and promised to return the favor and to show some great spots in Kyiv whenever Basim is going to visit. Both singers wished all the best to each other and promised to support during Eurovision 2014 journey and after.
