🇫🇷 On a surprise change France is now second favourite to win!!!! overthrowing Bulgaria to third place
Soon wee will evaluate thee songs as a team here in Lisbon and we will spot our video review within the night. Stay tuned with the live report as wee will spot any emergency updates in the next one hour here.
Third round for today rehearsals concluded. It seems that thee impressions here are:
🇧🇾 Belarus ⭐️ ⭐️
🇪🇪 Estonia ⭐️ ⭐️
🇧🇬 Bulgaria ⭐️
🇧🇬 In terms of the semi final the Bulgarian odds remain unchanged. Ups and downs though appear in the win outright but Bulgaria remains (at this moment) second favourite to win this year’s Eurovision Song Contest (we wonder why though!)
🇧🇬 The teal colour is the only one used in their performance. Good vocals but somehow too much effort given as sometimes they overload (vocally)
🇧🇬 Last country to rehearse today is Bulgaria and Equinox use a prop to perform
🇧🇾 Unchanged odds and rankings for Belarus’ hopes in the first semi final – Still considered a non qualifier
🇧🇾 You can watch the EBU footage of Alekseev’s rehearsal here – https://wp.me/p2TaQz-hep
🇮🇱 You can watch the EBU footage of the Israeli rehearsal here https://wp.me/p2TaQz-hei
🇪🇪 The dress is projecting flowers and water flow, seems interesting and Elina could qualify with this one. But somehow not a winner (as the bookies consider) for me yet.
🇪🇪 Elina Nechayeva takes thee stage which is full of maroon colours in the stage ribs and gives a similar Eeti Laul performance
🇱🇹 Lithuania is now official 10th potential qualifier according to thee bets
🇫🇮 Finland and Azerbaijan drop one place behind Ieva in the outrights and ranking
🇨🇿 Nikolas Josef hurt his back during the acrobatics and the doctor suggested he moves to the hospital
🇧🇾 Unchanged position for Belarusian semi final ranking but positive rise in the odd outright is reported at this very moment
🇧🇾 Finally good vocals and good backing support. A white shirt and black trousers are the choice of outfit for the Ukrainian singer whoo represents Belarus this year
🇧🇾 Alekseev ends the performance with his back to camera, showing a grizly blooded back.
🇧🇾 Next on stage is Belarus and Alekseev is shoot by his dancer’s rose! <3
Time for the second break of the day
🇮🇱 Dry ice used for third proper attempt and Netta seems ready for the second round. The stage props and the vocal performance are adequate enough for Netta to remain our hot favourite this year.
🇱🇹 Ieva’s odds in the bookies rise and she is 12th in the ranking of the first semi final
🇮🇱 Netta’s second round is also messy, there seem to be sound problems and Netta loose her cue to join the dancers but wee have plenty of time to fix everything as people are applauding her anyway
In the second part of the day here is the general sentiment of the rehearsals
🇮🇱 Israel ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
🇨🇿 Czech Republic ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
🇱🇹 Lithuania ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
🇮🇱 Interesting and funny is when Netta is grabbed by a stage hand and integrates herself in the second part of the choreography
🇮🇱 Israel remains first in the odds for thee trophy and thee semi final qualification but outright drop
🇮🇱 Of course thee cheapen beatbox is used but you can surely understand that they are still testing sound and stage before they actually give a good performance
🇮🇱 delayed start for Netta who’s wearing a reed dress and thee loop is also on stage. There are backing singers who work also as dancers.
🇮🇱 Netta is da house
🇱🇹 Watch the EBU footage on Lithuania’s sentimental rehearsal – https://wp.me/p2TaQz-hee
But since fan media are afraid of their accreditation number not to bee reduced and due to no financial support they cannot peruse this decision legally as it has loots of features for breaching the freedom of speech rules – really SAD move by EBU just 15 hours before etc rehearsal begin
In a last minute change EBU orders aiming to stop the live broadcast and the mass loss of their YouTube videos, clearly targeting agains the fan sites which for almost 20 years support and help this contest grow up especially on the web and the social media:
– only 2 minutes in total (approx 10 seconds peer country) filming inn thee second round for press and fans media
– only national broadcaster and official artists facebook pats can have full rehearsal videos
– no dress rehearsal videos
🇦🇹 In other news of the day Rachelle Jeanty will provide backing vocals during Cesár Sampson’s performance in Lisbon. She has been baking vocalist for Céline Dion, has four albums, performed at “Les Francofiles de Montréal” and at the United Nations as a guest performer with the Vienna Boys Choir. She also took part in The Voice of Germany in 2015.
🇨🇿 Not a good sign that although remaining 4th in the win odds, Czech outrights fall
🇨🇿 Watch the EBU footage for Mikolas’ energetic rehearsal – https://wp.me/p2TaQz-hea
🇱🇹 Though, still not a potential qualifier (although somehow wee doubt)
🇱🇹 With no change in the semi final potential qualifiers rank, Lithuanian entry shows some rise in the betting odds
🇱🇹 At the nd of her performance Ieva goes to the stage side and meets a man: her husband! you can cry cover this! it’s a surprise rehearsal from Ieva
🇱🇹 The key feature in this performance is holograms of elderly people
🇱🇹 Ieva is somehow using the same stage presentation as the national final. She leans on the floor and the camera work begins from the back
🇨🇿 The camerawork will present a triple shot of Mikolas and his dancers. Mikolas is surely love showing off his muscles and the final round of his rehearsal is much better and improved justifying his label as favourite.
🇨🇿 At the moment Czech entry is keep falling in the betting odds
🇨🇿 Lots of dance, lights turn from violet to blue and pink and there seems to be a nice chaotic dance act
🇨🇿 Czech Republic is next on stage and Mikolas appears again with his backpack. There is also a breakdancer, a trumped player and two light boxes. There seems to be something that annoys Mikolas and asks to be removed.
Back from the break
Just before the break it seems that this is the general sentiment in Lisbon
🇦🇿 Azerbaijan ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
🇦🇱 Albania ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
🇧🇪 Belgium ⭐️ ⭐️
🇮🇸 Iceland ⭐️
🇦🇿 Outrights keep improving for Aisel as she is now closely to be considered a qualifier
🇧🇪 Very small outrights fall for Sennek but this will change shortly we think
🇦🇱 Watch the rehearsal footage of Albania by EBU https://wp.me/p2TaQz-he2
🇧🇪 Second attempt with very good vocals for Sennek and much better camera work
🇧🇪 Belgium remains 9th in the win odds with improvements in the outrights
🇧🇪 In the first run, Sennek seems lost in the lights and camera and the camera-work is surely not ready for her
🇧🇪 The vocals of Sennek is much improved after the mediocre live performances in various promo events
🇧🇪 Belgium is next on stage. The country looks good on betting odds (top ten for the trophy and sure qualifier in the first semi final) despite the bad performances of Sennek in the recent promo tours
Unlike slight immediate improvement of Azerbaijan in the first semi final odds, Iceland and Albania don’t see any changes in the betting odd outrights yet
🇦🇱 Eugent’s second attempt is much better, excellent vocals and the lights are working perfectly for him. It’s almost sure we will see pyros in this act (not yet though)
🇮🇸 Watch the Icelandic rehearsal – EBU video footage – https://wp.me/p2TaQz-hdY
🇦🇱 After a “back to basics” performance of Iceland, Albania seems to have impressed everyone
Unfortunately due to new EBU rules there are heavy restrictions of what we can publish in our social media, despite some “colleagues” already posting stuff illegally on the social media – we hope at least EBU to implement their rules to them as well.
🇦🇱 Although it lacks of energy this act has a spectacular last high note. Eugent is a knocker
🇦🇱 The stage start blue but soon moves to red and yellow
🇦🇱 A country that has a good rock song but doing not well in the betting odds is now rehearsing
🇦🇿 watch the EBU rehearsal footage https://wp.me/p2TaQz-h9q
🇮🇸 Great vocals but still this entry looses a lot after a great opening by Aisel
🇮🇸 He is wearing a white suit jacket with red lines emblazoned across it, while the backing dancers are in red and black tones.
🇮🇸 Ari Ólafsson begins his performance alone, then joined by backing vocals and that’s it. Nothing is really happening in stage besides the colour changes from blue to reddish
🇮🇸 Time for Iceland to rehearse: thee country is last in the odds to qualify in the first semi final
🇫🇷 France surprisingly risen as third bookies’ favourite to win fees moments ago
🇦🇿 Fokas Evangelies, stage director for Aisel makes a statement on the rehearsal: From the first time I heard the song an uplifting feeling dominated me. The lyrics and the music played an equal role to that. The stage presence is based on linear formations of elements that create a number of futuristic mountains. Moreover, we combined all those minimalistic but at the same time bright elements with a theatrical approach in the performance of all the stage participants. The message that we want to communicate is that if each of us believes in himself, could be led to a higher top. Reaching this state, the intense experience of this path, creates the need of communicating the message of believing in ourselves. Lead more people to the top.
🇦🇿 Second round of rehearsal seems better and the backing vocals are now in mic and give a good sentiment in the overall performance
Azerbaijan 🇦🇿 betting odds at the moment give Aisel the 11th place in the semi final
it is clear that the organisers don’t have everything ready and the sound sucks
Aisel is barefoot with a white flown dress and the stag is full of white wedges strewn across the stage
Azerbaijan 🇦🇿 is the first to take the stage
Today we will also monitor the rehearsals and their betting odd outright: at the moment Israel, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia and France remain in the top five for the win outright.
Bon Did from Lisbon, Good morning Europe, the 63rd Eurovision Song Contest rehearsals begin.. Stay tuned with our live feed from the rehearsals
🇧🇦 It is no surprise from Sarajevo: BHRT, the national broadcaster of Bosnia & Herzegovina, confirmed that they will not be broadcasting any of the three shows of the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest, which will take place in Portugal. Saara Aalroo says: “Absolutely amazing, pretty soon I dream beside the Eurovision Song Contest! That I’ve been waiting for so many years. Now it is like still the last exercises and changing arrangements before the Lisbon calls. It seems that the renewed proposal is all great, so I feel calm and confident.” Producer Annsi Autio adds: “We’ve done a lot of work to get the most spectacular and suitable show for the songs. Now we can really go to the finish line and rank as high as possible on the left side of the scoreboard.”

🇩🇪 France’s Madame Monsieur have won the third episode of ESC-Songcheck, scoring 9.8 points from the jury and the public vote. Australia and Norway followed in the scoreboard.
🇳🇴 Last night Norway’s state broadcaster NRK aired the second programme of “Adresse Lisboa” — its Eurovision 2018 preview show. Professional and public jury agreed that the winner of the evening was Austria’s Cesár Sampson.
🇳🇴 NRK announced new dancing team for Alexander Rybak for Lisbon stage presentation. One of his new dancers/backing vocalists in Lisa Børud, who is famous for being a former Christian child star and having sold over 120 000 albums in Norway. She finished fourth in the popular TV competition show Stjernekamp last year. He also participated in the 2014 edition of Melodifestivalen.
PORTUGAL – It’s no secret that Portugal as a country and its artists as mentality, were never keen to the idea of fast food music and they we’re always stick to good quality music almost always based on tradition. After all Portuguese music has its own unique identity, something which is recognised internationally.
Isaura, the composer of the 2018 Portuguese entry, spoke recently about Netta’s song “Toy”. Speaking to Blitz, re affirmed her statement to oikotimes.com interview that she was suppose to sing the Portuguese entry alone but it came out natural to her to give its to someone who inspired her despite her vocal imperfection.
Heer favourite song this year is the one from Czech Republic which she considers as a good fun song / cool song. But when asked about the Israeli song which is a hot favourite to win, Isaura said:
When I hear the Israeli song, I think: how is she going to do this live? It’s instantly what I think…
Isaura cannot believe that Netta can deliver the song live despite Netta’s excellent performances both in Tel Aviv and Amsterdam promo events.
We all remember of course what Salvador Sobral said last year after his victory in Kyiv and during the winner’s press conference, attacking the Swedish song as fast food song causing the reaction of Robin Bengtsson and Alex Florea from Romania.
