Eurovision streaker in Australian flag identified as Ukrainian prankster Vitalii Sediuk

UKRAINE – A man who mooned crowds at the Eurovision Song Contest while draped in an Australian flag has been identified as infamous Ukranian prankser Vitalii Sediuk.

Mr Sediuk stormed the stage at the contest in Kiev, Ukraine, while last year’s winner, Jamala, was performing a half-time show.

He circled the singer before dropping his pants and exposing his buttocks to the camera.

SBS European correspondent Brett Mason confirmed the streaker was actually Mr Sediuk, who has made headlines in the past for his outrageous pranks.

Initially, Eurovision commentators and Twitter users reacted as if the streaker were an Australian, with one commentator saying “Get off the stage, Australia”.

Australia also experienced a sharp drop in viewer votes for the grand final, with many people blaming the decline on the mooning incident.

Jamala handled Mr Sediuk’s intrusion like a professional, ignoring him until security removed him from the stage.
