Sweden 2017: “I will definitely start my performance backstage” says Robin

SWEDEN – In a recent interview to ESCPEDIA.info, Swedish representative Robin Bengtsson cleared some things about his performance and jokes.

Justin Timberlake did during Academy Awards something similar that you did for your “I can’t go on” performance, starting in the backstage. Did you see his performance? If you did, what did you think about it? Will we see something similar in Eurovision? “Yes I heard he did something similar, but I haven’t watched it, maybe he saw my performance and got it inspired? No but seriously, I will definitely start backstage in ESC, just like in Melodifestivalen!”

You made a joke saying you’ll bring an ape dancing in a treadmill and some fans didn’t react very well to this. How do you deal with these fans with strong opinions? “Oh I didn’t know that! I didn’t mean to offend anyone of course but I was making a joke about doing the same thing as Italy with someone dressed as a gorilla but of course I wasn’t serious. I’m sorry if that offended anyone!”

  1. Looks like Sweden’s entry appears to be stuck in my head, not that I hate it or anything. By the way, when’s Robin filming an actual music video for this song? 🤔
