JUNIOREUROVISION.TV REPORTS / GEORGIA – The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and the Georgian Public Broadcaster, GPB, have today confirmed that the 2017 Junior Eurovision Song Contest will take place on Sunday 26th November. The competition will be held in Tbilisi’s Sports Palace, located in the heart of the capital city.

Popular for both sporting and live events the Sports Palace will be home to this year’s Contest. While it was traditionally used as a sporting arena, the Sports Palace underwent renovation in 2007 to become a leading venue in the city of Tbilisi and a home for both national and international events such as concerts, shows and exhibitions.

11 year old Mariam Mamadashvili triumphed for Georgia in November last year in Valletta, with her powerful performance of Mzeo. Earlier this year the EBU and GPB revealed that as last year’s winners GPB were given first option to host the 2017 competition, and they have agreed.

Georgia has won Junior Eurovision a record three times but this is the first time that the event will be held in the country. This year marks the 15th edition of the song Contest.

  1. Here’s my prediction for the participating countries.

    🇦🇱 Albania
    🇦🇲 Armenia
    🇧🇾 Belarus
    🇧🇬 Bulgaria
    🇨🇾 Cyprus
    🇫🇷 France (returning)
    🇬🇪 Georgia
    🇬🇷 Greece (returning)
    🇮🇪 Ireland
    🇮🇹 Italy
    🇲🇰 Macedonia
    🇲🇹 Malta
    🇲🇪 Montenegro (returning)
    🇳🇱 Netherlands
    🇵🇱 Poland
    🇷🇺 Russia
    🇷🇸 Serbia
    🇺🇦 Ukraine

    Withdrawing:
🇦🇺 Australia (because I know why some people don’t want anyone from down under to compete, not that I agree or anything)
🇮🇱 Israel (because of the bad result in Valletta)
