February 25: results from Sweden, Iceland, Lithuania

SWEDEN – Melodifestivalen 2017, organised by Sveriges Television (SVT), will be the sixteenth consecutive edition of the contest in which the competition will take place in different cities across Sweden. The fourth semi-final took place on 25 February 2017 at Skellefteå Kraft Arena in Skellefteå.

ICELAND –  Söngvakeppnin 2017 will be the twelfth edition of Söngvakeppnin, the music competition that selects Iceland’s entries for the Eurovision Song Contest. The show will consist of two semi-finals, taken place on the 25 February and the 4 March 2017 in Háskólabíó, the final of the competition is scheduled to take place on 11 March 2017 in Laugardalshöllin, the national indoor arena. Six songs will compete in each semi-final, with the top 3 from each advancing to the Grand Final, decided by public televoting. The final will consist of six entries that, via 50/50 public televoting and jury voting, will be shortened to a top 2, winning entry will be determined by the ‘gold final’ in which the top two entries in the final will battle it out for the title of Iceland’s 2017 Eurovision entry, decided by public tele-voting. The first semi-final took place on 25 February 2017, where six of the competing acts presented their songs to the public. The top three entries decided solely by televoting advanced to the final.

LITHUANIA – Lithuania will participate in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017. The artist and song that will represent Lithuania in the 2017 contest will be selected through a national final, “Eurovizijos” dainų konkurso nacionalinė atranka, organised by the Lithuanian broadcaster Lithuanian National Radio and Television (LRT), culminating in a final on 11 March 2017.
