UKRAINE – On December 19th 2016, host broadcaster UA: PBC launched its volunteer recruitment campaign for Eurovision 2017. Just after 24 hours, 1,500 people had already applied. Today, and just a few days before the closing date (February 17th) this number has reached an incredible 10,000!

The interest in the organization of the event is growing bigger every year. In addition to applications from former volunteers from previous editions, and European fans, it seems that the whole world is wishing to get involved.
Applicants come from 17 countries, from Ukraine and participating nations to places as far away as Korea, the USA or Dubai!

Now it’s time for UA:PBC to check those applications and start doing the interviews to select the 750 lucky ones who will fly to Kiev. Briefings and training will start in March and April, even if some volunteers (involved in logistics mainly, will take the job in March already).

About Olivier Rocher (France) (446 Articles)
Salut! Born just a few days after Marie Myriam's last victory for my homeland (that's a sign), I've been an ESC fan since Zagreb 1990. In late 2013, I was lucky enough to join the Oikotimes team and even attended my very first contest in situ in Wonderful Copenhagen. Then it was Vienna, Sofia, Stockholm and soon it will be Valletta and Kiev. More to come...
