Stefan Karl Stefansson declines online petition to participate in Eurovision

ICELAND – Over 10,000 people signed the online petition for Stefan Karl Stefansson to represent the country in the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest, a petition which started by Andrew McCarton. Stefan Karl Stefansson is known as Robbie Rotten from the children show LazyTown. Due to cancer treatment the actor declined the kind gesture from his fans. Andrew McCarton says: “Of course we hope to see him in the competition in 2017, but his recovery will be a priority. I hope that if he can not be in the competition in 2017, he and RUV will reflect on his participation in the competition a year later.”
