November 15: delegation activities and postcards filming

Harbour Boat Trip and 5D experience for nine JESC contestants and dozens of Maltese students
The cloudy weather, the fine drizzle, and the occasionally biting wind did not take away any of the fun for the groups of Maltese students who met up with the contestants of Georgia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Armenia, Australia, Russia, Ukraine, Albania, Belarus of the Junior Eurovision on the first day of rehearsals and fun. First up was a boat trip in the magnificent Grand Harbour – the same fortifications which over 500 years ago heard the shrill screams of warmongering hoards, today echoed with the delighted expressions of students and contestants, clamouring for selfies, photobombing each other and generally running reasonably riot…well, as much as their guardians would allow. Then, in a more sedate but no less fun filled manner, they proceeded to visit the Malta 5D show, a truly sensory experience of excerpts of Maltese history.

Ukraine, Albania, Belarus and Bulgaria learn about Malta’s history
Ukraine’s Sofia, Klesta from Albania, the Bulgarian Alexander and Lidia from Belarus were welcomed to the Malta 5D show by the students from St. Margaret’s College, Cospicua, St. Theresa Girls, Mriehel, Our lady Immaculate, Hamrun and Gozo College Boys, Gozo. The participants signed autographs for the students and one of the girls showed the logo of the JESC 2016 which she drew on her diary.

Postcard Shooting for Belarus and Ukraine
The short video clips which are shown before each of the songs, also called postcards, were partly shot today in St. George’s Square, Valletta, with Alexander Minyonok for Belarus and Sofia Rol for Ukraine involved in this activity. Both Sofia and Sascha looked like they were enjoying themselves greatly in spite of the chilly weather.

Postcard Shooting for Georgia and Belarus
Alexander Minyonok from Belarus and Mariam Mamadashvili from Georgia were busy this morning shooting their Postcard at Hastings Gardens in Valletta. It was a fun experience for both participants while enjoying the views of Malta from this place.

Postcard Shooting for Australia and Bulgaria
This year’s postcards are being filmed! The morning’s filming for Australia and Bulgaria took these youths near Valletta gate. Maltese students from various schools joined them in the shoot for this postcard. Australia is represented by 12 years old Alexa Curtis with the song ‘We are’ and Bulgaria is represented by Lidia Ganeva 10 years old girl with the song Magical Day.
