BRASOV, ROMANIA – The Romanian national selection for Eurovision “Selectia Nationala 2014” will be held in Brasov at the Sica Alexandrescu Theatre, as the national broadcaster TVR looks to hold the national final in a different city.

Brasov is known for hosting the popular Golden Stag festival which has headlined many numerous Eurostars including Patricia Kass, Ruslana, t.A.T.u, Toto Catugno and many more. It has also been host to many in international stars including Kylie Minogue, Diana Ross, Christina Aguilera, Cyndi Lauper, Kenny Rogers, Jerry Lee Lewis, Ray Charles, UB 40, INXS and many others.

The Romanian national final is set to take place on March 1. Romania will compete in the second half of the second semi final on May 8 in Copenhagen.

TVR received 159 songs from which 150 are valid and this week Romanian broadcaster will decide the finalists for the grand show.

Tudor Turcu, VH2, Vizi Imre, Blaxy Girls, Dan Helciug, Ştefan Stan, Paula şi Ovi, Bere Gratis, Mirela Vaida, Naomi, Anthony Icuagu, Jazzy Jo, The Zuralia Orchestra, Orlando Ivan (Radio 21), Silvia Dumitrescu, Ozana Barabancea, Andrei Leonte, Cobzality feat. Matilda Pascal Cojocăriţa, Andreea Olariu, Renée Santana, Alexandra Crăescu, Cezar Dometi are some of the names submitting a song for Eurovision 2014.
