CARL ESPEN WORKS HARD ON VOCALS
OSLO, NORWAY – Carl Espen is preparing hard for the 59th Eurovision Song Contest. Live de Lange, his vocal coach is helping him to make his voice ready for the grand performance. “It will help me being more confident, to calm down nerves when performing on stage. Singing in front of 140 million people means a lot of pressure. So it is important the vocal technique is there. I’m starting to realize that I represent the whole Norwegian nation and not just myself. So the hours of work with vocal coach are completely decisive”
“Silent Storm” is a ballad among many ballads this year and the emphasis of Carl is in his English during the performance. His voice is under complete restructure as he learns how to manage any problem with breathing and other technics to make the performance as perfect as possible. “Carl Espen has still much to do, but he has a lot of potential. First and foremost, he has a very beautiful voice that fits the song he will perform at Eurovision”
The song is penned by his cousin, Josefin Winther who says about the singer: “For a long time Carl has been living with a dream to sing in front of many people. So I thought about what it would be needed for that to happen… I’m incredibly impressed by what he has done. It is so brave, and I know that it has costed him much to do this”.
Carl Espen comments: “The song has a very personal lyrics that many can recognize themselves in it. After MGP victory I’ve got fanmail from China, Australia and South America”
