USA – We love scandals and a big one emerges. I say big one for two reasons: first, because it concerns a bribery and second because we don’t know if the EBU is notified (and if yes) if they will do something about it.
YouTuber, Jake’s Face Reacts, posted a video in which he claims a country officials offered him money (which equals two or three times his annual salary as a teacher) to post positive comments for an artist along with other video of the artist as well.
Immediately speculations risen as in the past there was a severe incident with a country (in 2013) and three – four country names are speculated by the fans in their comments. We will not mention them.
We will also not post the bribery claim video as we noticed one thing: there was no mention that the incident and its proves were submitted to the EBU, something which should have be done in any case. Until this is clarified we will not post the video.
YouTuber (who obviously due to his quite successful video reactions – based on the views) is obviously monetizing his videos, should reasonably either go public with the proves and the name of the briber otherwise notify the EBU, from which we also expect immediate reaction.
Because so far 4 countries have been targeted all over the web as potential criminals. This could easily destroy their effort in Eurovision especially if they are innocent.
Though as ESCUnited mentions in their video reaction to the bribery, the incident could have occurred by independent company or person and not members of the delegation.
We would be delighted to help in any way possible but above all unless EBU is involved in thee investigation we will share no information given to us.
Moments ago, both Jake’s Face Reacts and ESCUnited removed their videos mentioning the story. So easy for everyone to come on a camera on YouTube and throw mud! No surprise here: the goal to attract more views achieved!
In a further update Jake’s Face tweeted that he deleted the video, providing all information to the EBU
[Part 1 of 3]Well…I asked you all for advice on how to handle the situation, and I got it. I’ve handed this over to the EBU to investigate like so many of you suggested. They have everything I have, and I will let them do the investigating.
