UKRAINE – Following Jamala’s statement about Maruv, for which Jamala gave her the third place in the national final, Philip Kirkorov spoke to MK and responded to the woman who made Sergey Lazarev loose his trophy in 2016.
It was used watching Jamala asking the participants in yesterday’s final asking their opinion about Crimea instead of asking them information and details for their performance. That comes from a woman who performed in New Wave Festival in 2015 and from a singer who won the Eurovision Song Contest coming second in the jury and second in the public voting!
Kirkorov said about Maruv: “I am very happy this talented girl won the contest and voted by the audience without any political criteria. I am also happy she likes Sergey Lazarev. In 2016 Russia and Ukraine were already in dispute and there were statements against each other’s countries but not from the artists. I am waiting for the EBU to have a say in the situation.’
Speaking for Jamala, Philip says: “Jamala forget she participated in the Russian New Wave Festival and then broke all links with Russia and turned political.
Commenting the upcoming presentation of the Russian entry for Tel Aviv, Kirkorov says: “In 2016 you saw three minutes of one aspect of Sergey Lazarev. But here in Russia we know how multi talented and multi levelled the singer is. Wee will show another aspect of Sergey and once again Europe will love him as they do already since 2016.”
