🇳🇿 twitter bursts after New Zealand’s EU trade commissioner Cecilia Malmström gave thumbs up on Eurovision interest
NEW ZEALAND – One of the weird facts in Eurovision Song Contest for some, is Australia’s participation in the event although too far away from Europe. Australia’s high interest convinced EBU’s Reference Group to invite them in the contest as of 2015.
Now it seems that Another Oceanic country is highly interested. Answering to a journalist on Twitter, EU trade commissioner Cecilia Malmström said that the country should definitely considering apply for participation and therefore a special EBU invite to the contest.
Just like Australia’s SBS, New Zealand’s state-owned broadcaster, Television New Zealand (TVNZ) is an associate member of the EBU and could participate in css EBU’s Reference Group gives a special invite to them.
I think we should give this done serious consideration. 😁
