FRANCE – All countries are getting ready for Junior Eurovision in Minsk with the publication of songs and music videos going on and on.
Nevertheless, France, that is making an unexpected come-back this year after a 14-year long break, has kept rather silent.
Even if the name of the French entrant hasn’t been revealed yet, France 2 (the channel that will broadcast the event) has announced today that Eurovision commentator Stéphane Bern will do the job live from Belarus. But since it is Eurovision, the rumour mill has already started and Monsieur Bern may not be alone for this mission.
It’s been rumoured for a few days now that 2018 French duo Madame Monsieur could join him. In past years, it’s become a tradition for France to ask former entrants to comment the event, and since Madame Monsieur are still rather popular in France, such a choice would not be a huge surprise. Some say that Madame Monsieur may have been asked to do the job with the Junior event. Anyhow, this is still a rumour, but that could be great news. We just have to wait for an official announcement.
Whatever the rumour is false or wrong, one can say that, by sending an experienced commentating team to Minsk and by broadcasting the event on the main channel, FranceTélévisions is taking its come-back more than seriously. Let’s just wait for the entry now.
