🇪🇸 Pastora Soler calls for calm approach of Eurovision
SPAIN 🇪🇸 Speaking to El Periódico, the 2012 Spanish representative, Pastora Soler spoke about Eurovision and the pressure behind participating in it. She also commented the participation of Amaia & Alfred.
“So much controversy does not bring any benefit to our future participation. To continue like this, nobody will want to participate. There is a lot of pressure in the contest. I felt this in my year, everything was analyzed and criticized. As the Eurofan I am, I found the participation of Amaia and Alfred with “Tu Canción” a very dignified one. The song is very beautiful and they have been very well. We should be proud of our performance.”
On 21 December 2011 she was selected internally by RTVE to represent Spain in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 in Baku, Azerbaijan. The song “Quédate conmigo”, penned by Thomas G:son, Tony Sánchez-Ohlsson and Erik Bernholm, was chosen as her entry in a special live show on 3 March. On 26 May 2012 she finished 10th in the Eurovision final with 97 points. Commercially, “Quédate conmigo” ranked at number 35 on the year-end Spanish singles chart.
